Technical Description:

• Apparatus investigating horizontal thrust of the springing of two hinged steel parabolic arch
• To enable the calculation of influence lines
• Apparatus to consist of steel parabolic model arch
• 1.0 metre span, 0.2 metre rise
• To have springings with precision bearings installed
• Horizontal thrust measured by precision load cell
• Load to be applied using calibrated weights on vertical equi-spaced chains and hangers
• Ability for model analysis work to be undertaken using pins at hanger joints and dial gauge
• To have optional arch with span of 1metre and 0.5metre rise (sold separately)
• Must be used with universal Frame and Stand (sold separately)
• Must be used with Interface (sold separately)
